The former national security adviser says the president's attempt to end the war in Ukraine is “collapsing in confusion and haste."
Former national security adviser John Bolton lashed out at President Donald Trump in his first comments following the shocking FBI raid of his home and office on Friday.
Bolton, a former Trump administration official who is now a frequent critic of the president, referenced the raid on his home in Bethesda, Maryland, and office in Washington, D.C., in an op-ed Monday criticizing Trump’s chaotic handling of the Russia-Ukraine war.
“Donald Trump’s Ukraine policy today is no more coherent than it was last Friday when his administration executed search warrants against my home and office,” Bolton wrote in the Washington Examiner.
“Collapsing in confusion and haste, Trump’s negotiations may be in their last throes, along with his Nobel Peace Prize campaign.”
Alluding to Trump rolling out the red carpet in Alaska for Russian President Vladimir Putin, Bolton went on to characterize the “furious pace” at which Trump has recently moved to secure a peace deal as “one of several significant mistakes.”
