The president said he "learned something from" the president-elect.
President Joe Biden on Tuesday said he was “stupid” not to have added his name to coronavirus pandemic relief checks, which his predecessor-turned-imminent-successor, President-elect Donald Trump, did in 2020.
“I signed the American Rescue Plan, the most significant economic recovery package in our history, and also learned something from Donald Trump,” Biden told the Brookings Institution during a speech defending his administration’s economic record.
Trump “signed checks for people for 7,400 bucks and I didn’t,” Biden noted.
“Stupid,” the outgoing POTUS then said, pointing to his head.
The line drew laughter from the audience.
