Jayson Tatum breaks silence on devastating Celtics injury with hospital photo
NY Post
The road to recovery has begun for Jayson Tatum.
The Celtics star spoke out on social media on Wednesday for the first time since tearing his right Achilles tendon in Monday’s Game 4 loss to the Knicks.
“Thankful for all the love and support (prayer emoji),” Tatum wrote in an Instagram caption alongside a picture of him in a hospital bed.
Tatum underwent surgery on Tuesday and is likely to miss all of next season as a result.
The Celtics had kind words for their six-time All-Star on X after he broke his silence.
“The comeback will be greater than the setback,” the team wrote with a screenshot of Tatum’s Instagram post.

He had just delivered what was — may still be — the forever money performance in the Nets’ NBA history. Jason Kidd had played 51 minutes, 38 seconds of a 120-109 double overtime win against the Pacers, do-or-die Game 5, 2002 first round at the Meadowlands. Reggie Miller had made another of his gut-punch shots to extend the game, a 35-footer that made Tyrese Haliburton’s Game 1 prayer against the Knicks seem like a routine layup.
