Jasprit Bumrah on Test captaincy: Will be an honour if I'm given the opportunity

Jasprit Bumrah said that while becoming the captain of the Indian Test team will be an honour, he is ready to contribute in whichever manner that is required of him regardless of the post.

Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah said that it would be an "honour" to captain the Indian Test team but he is ready to contribute in whichever manner required regardless of the post. Bumrah is one of the players who have been touted to replace Virat Kohli as India's Test captain, although batsmen KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma have emerged as the frontrunners.

"For me, I am ready to contribute in whichever manner I can, be it in the post or otherwise," Bumrah told reporters on Monday. "If given opportunity it's an honour, but if not then also I will try to do whatever is required to the best of my ability. My focus is to do well."
