Jamia Millia Islamia's Department of Sociology on Monday cancelled the admission of Delhi riots accused Safoora Zargar. Zargar is enrolled with the Department of Sociology in the integrated MPhil/PhD programme.
Taking to her Twitter handle, Safoora Zargar wrote, “In anticipation of the approval of the same of the Faculty committee. The usually snail-paced Jamia admin moving at light speed to cancel my admission, foregoing all due process.Let it be known, it breaks my heart but not my spirit."

On Wednesday, Zargar tweeted that her application for an extension of Mphil thesis submission has been put on hold for over eight months. She told PTI over the phone that she has been informed by RAC verbally that she is not being granted an extension.
Jamia Millia Islamia in a statement said, "Her progress report by the supervisor was unsatisfactory. The scholar did not apply for extension as a woman scholar before the expiry of stipulated maximum period."

He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
