Doha, Qatar: Sheikh Talal Nasser Al-Thani-owned Jalila Alghania, ridden by Gavin Matt Ryan, delivered a commanding performance to secure the End Of Year Cup at Al Uqda Racecourse yesterday.

The four-year-old filly remained steady throughout the 1300m Local Purebred Arabian Graduation feature before accelerating in the home straight, completing a double for trainer Hadi Al Ramzani and jockey Ryan.

After the victory, Ryan praised Jalila Alghania for her consistency and speed.

“She’s been knocking on the door for a while, so she well-deserved that win. She was fast from the start and picked up pace beautifully in the end,” he said.

The winners of the End Of Year Cup were crowned by Head of the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) Racing Operations Section Rashid Saed Adiba.
