Former SEAL Jack Ryan, author of a new nonfiction series in 2024, "Targeted," recalls late novelist Tom Clancy, who started his techno-thriller writing career with "The Hunt for Red October."
I remember exactly where I was as I cracked open their covers. Many of Clancy's works were turned into blockbuster movies. Clancy was also a part owner of the Baltimore Orioles baseball team.
I already had my sights set on the SEAL teams when John Clark first appeared in "The Cardinal of the Kremlin."
