The current director of the National Cricket Academy - Laxman and the current head coach of the Indian team - Rahul Dravid were the architects of one of the famous wins for India in the history of Test cricket. The duo, playing in tough conditions at the Eden Gardens, pulled back an incredible heist against a top quality Australia team to win India the Test match - breaking the record run for the Steve Waugh-led team.
Laxman and Dravid, put together a massive 376-run partnership after being followed on by Australia to take India to a huge second innings total of 657 runs. Laxman was the man of the match of that game after scoring 281 runs in the second innings of the game. Dravid ably partnered him by scoring 180 runs and saw off a total of 353 deliveries.
The partnership between Laxman and Dravid is once again going to be crucial for India as they look to keep India injury free en route to the World Cup in Australia. Several players have recently been injured in the run up to the IPL and the director of NCA will hope that he can keep everybody at a hundred per cent heading into another tough schedule that will take India across the world. At the moment, players like Deepak Chahar, Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja have been ruled out of the IPL for their respective injuries and BCCI are said to have a keen eye on them. Barring these players, T Natarajan, Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya have also been monitored recently during the path of their own respective recoveries.
