Ishant Sharma says journey in WTC has been an emotional one: I think this is like a World Cup final

Ishant Sharma said that captain Virat Kohli told the team that the fact that the World Test Championship final is a culmination of the hard work they have put in over the past two years.

India fast bowler Ishant Sharma has said that the World Test Championship (WTC) final is as big as a World Cup final. Ishant is in England with the rest of the Indian team gearing up for the final against New Zealand, which will be held from June 18-22 at the Ageas Bowl. "It's been a practical as well as emotional journey. This is an ICC tournament and it is as big as a World Cup final," Ishant said in a video for the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI). "Virat (Kohli) has said this is not our sweat and hard work of just one month but over a period of two years. We had to work harder because of Covid, then rule change happened and we were under pressure and then we won a tough series in Australia. We came back against England as we had to win 3-1," he further said.
