Iran launches missile and drone strikes on U.S. bases across six Middle Eastern countries amid escalating military tensions.

In a significant escalation of the Iran-U.S. military combat, the former has launched a series of missiles and drone strikes against U.S. military bases across West Asia. Iran’s retaliatory strikes followed hours after U.S. and Israel forces begun a joint military attack early in the day.

U.S. President Donald Trump, in a video shared on social media, said, “Our objective ​is ‌to defend the American ‌people by eliminating ​imminent threats from ⁠the Iranian ‌regime”. Mr. Trump claimed that Iran has continued to develop its nuclear programme and plans to develop missiles to reach the U.S.

Amid the attacks, residents in the conflict-ridden areas, especially Israel and Iran, have undertaken necessary measures to move into safer places. Indian Embassy in Iran and Israel, have issued an advisory to exercise utmost caution, avoid unnecessary movements and remain indoors as far as possible.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has launched “Operation Truthful Promise 4”, apparently targeting key U.S. military installations across the Middle East. Majorly, the attack impacts seven U.S. military bases in six middle-eastern countries.
