Keeping track of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 schedule is not going to be easy! The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday, February 25 announced that the new season with 10 teams will get underway on March 26 and the final will be played on May 29.
The board also confirmed that four venues across Mumbai and Pune will host as many as 70 league games, 14 more than IPL 2021 which had only 8 teams. The decision to play the matches in a single hub (the Mumbai-Pune corridor) has been taken to avoid air travel in a bid to avoid the risk of Covid-19 infection.

There will be a total of 74 matches in IPL 2022 from March 26 to May 29. 70 league matches will be played in Mumbai and Pune. The BCCI said on Friday that the venues for the 4 play-offs matches, including the final, will be decided on a later date.
Each team will play 14 matches in the league stages.
