In a re-match of the Qualifier 1, Rajasthan Royals (RR) and the Gujarat Titans (GT) will cross swords at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Gujarat Titans (GT) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) are set to lock horns in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 on Sunday, May 29 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The Titans, led by Hardik Pandya, have been on a rampage, having won 11 out of their 15 matches thus far in the cash-rich championship. They also topped the points table in the league stage and became the first team to qualify for the playoffs.
Thereafter, Pandya and Co. defeated the Royals by seven wickets in Qualifier 1 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata to make it through to the playoffs. Having already defeated the Royals two times, the Titans will have the psychological advantage going into the final.
The Royals, captained by Sanju Samson, on the other hand, have had their ups and downs in the cash-rich league. After winning six out of their first eight matches, Samson’s men looked good to qualify for the playoffs. However, a few losses pushed them back in the tournament.
The Royals and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) finished with nine wins each from 14 matches. But RR managed to finish second after edging KL Rahul and Co. on net run rate. It remains to be seen if the Royals can stop the in-form GT in the all-important final.
There is no chance of rain in Ahmedabad for the time being, and the weather update should come as a sigh of relief to the people who have been patiently waiting for the match. The playing conditions will be hot with the temperature around the 27-degree Celsius mark.
The conditions won’t be overly humid with the numbers in the high-30s and 40s. Dew may play a part and the team, batting second, may end up getting a bit of an advantage.
