IPL 2022 final, GT vs RR: Gujarat hilariously respond to Kolkata’s congratulatory tweet - Mishti chai

Even as Gujarat Titans (GT) won the 2022 Indian Premier League, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) failed to qualify for the playoffs.

Gujarat Titans (GT) dominated throughout the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and won the title. On Sunday, May 29, Hardik Pandya and Co. defeated the Rajasthan Royals (RR) by seven wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Titans topped the points table in the league stage and became the first team to make it through to the playoffs.

They won 10 out of their 14 matches and never looked out of sorts. Thereafter, they beat the Royals in the Qualifier 1 and final to achieve glory. In the meantime, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who failed to qualify for the playoffs, dropped a congratulatory tweet for the Titans after their victory.

The official Twitter handle of KKR wrote, “Kem Jalsa, @gujarat_titans?” GT, in response, dropped a hilarious response, “Shudhu Tweet korle cholbena, mishti chai! (Only tweeting won’t do, we need sweets).

After GT’s win, Pandya, their skipper, who also won the Player of the Match award for his all-round efforts, lauded his team for their collective efforts. He also praised the GT support staff for being extremely supportive.

“The kind of support the support staff has shown for the players is wonderful. This is the right example for every team in the world that if you can play as a team, you can do wonders. I and Ashu pa are similar in terms of thinking. We like to have proper bowlers who can win matches on their own.
