IPL 2021: Monday's match between KKR and RCB was rescheduled after two Kolkata players tested positive for Covid-19. The tournament will resume on Tuesday but the governing council has acknowledged the fast-changing situation.
Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 was jolted by news of positive Covid-19 cases in the Kolkata Knight Riders camp on Monday. KKR's match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, scheduled for May 3 in Ahmedabad, was rescheduled by the BCCI after it was confirmed that Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier tested positive for Covid-19. Varun and Sandeep have been isolated from the rest of the squad. The rest of the KKR players and the support staff have gone into hard quarantine and are undergoing daily tests for the next 5 days to identify any other positive cases early. The BCCI medical team is also determining the close and casual contacts of the two positive cases during the 48 hours prior to collection of the sample that returned the positive test results. It was also reported on Monday that two non-playing members of Chennai Super Kings squad, which is currently camped in Delhi -- one of the worst-hit regions by the Covid-19 second wave in India - tested positive. However, it has emerged that their rapid antigen tests returned negative report and the franchise is awaiting the result of another RT-PCR test.More Related News
