IPL 2021: After Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier tested positive for Covid-19, Kolkata Knight Riders players and support staff have gone into hard quarantine and are being subjected to daily testing.
Kolkata Knight Riders players and support staff have gone into hard quarantine at their team hotel in Ahmedabad after two players, Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier, tested positive for Covid-19. The Indian Premier League (IPL) on Monday confirmed the two positive cases and said Match 30 between KKR and Royal Challengers Bangalore in Ahmedabad would be postponed. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said that both Varun and Sandeep have been isolated from the rest of the squad with the medical team constantly monitoring their health. It also said that daily tests are being conducted for KKR players and support staff in Ahmedabad while the board's Medical Team is also determining the close and casual contacts of the two positive cases during the 48 hours prior to collection of the sample that returned the positive test results. KKR were scheduled to take on RCB at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Monday. Their next match is scheduled after a 4-day gap on Saturday, May 8 in Ahmedabad.More Related News
