IPL 2021: Cricket Australia chief Nick Hockley has said that they were no plans yet to arrange charter flights to bring back Australian players involved in the tournament. Notably, Australia has banned all direct passenger flights from India until May 15 due to rising number of cases in the country. IPL 2021 final is scheduled to held on May 30.
Cricket Australia chief Nick Hockley on Monday said that the board currently has no plans to arrange charter flights and bring back its players involved in IPL 2021 from Covid-19-hit India. Hockley asserted that Australian players are feeling safe and secure in the IPL bio-bubble but his comments came before the postponement of the 30th match of the season between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Notably, two KKR players -- Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier have tested positive for Covid-19 while the remaining players and staff have isolated themselves in their hotel rooms. Mumbai Indians batsman Chris Lynn had recently requested Cricket Australia to arrange for a charter flight for Australia players after the tournament concludes on May 30.More Related News
