iPhone 14 price will be much higher than iPhone 13, suggests report
India Today
One of the latest reports suggests that the iPhone 14 will be priced much higher than the iPhone 13 and the reason is the expensive high-end front sensor.
Past reports suggested that the iPhone 14 will be priced similar to the iPhone 13, which was launched at Rs 79,900. One of the latest reports suggests a different story. It hints that the iPhone 14 will be priced much higher than the iPhone 13 and the reason is the expensive high-end front sensor.
The report suggests that the upcoming iPhone flagship series will offer a much improved front camera performance compared to the predecessor. The front camera performance of the iPhone 13 was just about decent and required a slight upgrade. We will possibly be able to see the upgrade to the iPhone 14, which is likely to launch in September.
As per the report, Apple is looking at LG Innotek and Sharp to supply the front camera sensors for the iPhone 14. With this, it will be the first time in history that the iPhone's front-facing sensor will be developed by a Korean company.
It is said that LG Innotek's camera was initially planned to be used on the iPhone 15 but Apple suddenly decided to use it for iPhone models launching this year. The decision has perhaps been made after Chinese-made cameras experienced some quality problems.
Currently, there’s no clarity on what the price of the iPhone 14 will be or how much costlier it will be when compared to the iPhone 13. The iPhone 13 series comes in three variants in six funky colours including green, blue, pink, midnight, starlight, and (PRODUCT) RED.
In terms of pricing, the 128GB storage model of the iPhone 13 comes for a price of Rs 79,900. The price of the 256GB and 512GB storage models come for a price of Rs 89,900 and Rs 1,09,900 respectively. Third-party online and offline retailers are offering the iPhone for a much cheaper price after the bank offer.
Under the iPhone 14 series, Apple is likely to launch four models, including the iPhone 14, the iPhone 14 Pro, the iPhone 14 Max, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Although Apple hasn't revealed details about the launch of the iPhone 14, reports suggest it could be in the second week of September. The Cupertino-based tech giant is currently busy preparing for its annual developer's meeting, WWDC 2022, scheduled for next month.
