Indore: Driving licence expired? Now, get it renewed sitting at home through online mode

Application and renewal of a driving licence has been made easier in Indore as applicants will now be able to easily avail these facilities through online mode. Meanwhile, a fine of Rs 1,000 will be imposed on the defaulters on a yearly basis if the driving licence is not renewed on time.

Application and renewal of a driving licence has been made easier in Indore as applicants will now be able to easily avail these facilities through online mode.

For applicant’s convenience, facilities have been enhanced, following which applicants can now apply for the renewal or duplicate driving license through an online system, eliminating the need to visit the Regional Transport Office for the same.

However, applicants will still have to visit the RTO office in order to collect their driving licence.

Applicants can visit the official portal at https://parivahan.gov.in/parivahan/ and apply for duplicate, renewal and modification of their driving licences.

Until now, renewal or duplicate driving licence procedures have been routed through Smartchip Company, but under the new system, data of more than 12 lakh licenses from Indore has been transferred to the central server.

Along with enhancing the facilities, the Transport Department has also increased the penalty amount for holders of an expired driving licence.
