IND vs SA, 2nd T20I: Rohit Sharma's India will be looking to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series after winning the opening match by eight wickets in Trivandrum.
India will be looking to seal the fate of the three-match T20I series when they lock horns with Temba Bavuma’s South Africa on Sunday, October 2 at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati.
Earlier, the Men in Blue stormed to a resounding eight-wicket win over the Proteas in Trivandrum. After electing to field first in favourable bowling conditions, India’s new-ball bowlers, Deepak Chahar and Arshdeep Singh made inroads into the opposition batting.
From being reduced to 9/5 inside the powerplay, the Proteas did manage to cross the three-figure score, but it wasn’t enough for them to secure victory. It remains to be seen how the visiting team comes back after the loss in the series opener.
India, on the other hand, will look to win back-to-back home T20I series ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia. Previously, India came back from 0-1 to beat Aaron Finch’s Aussies.
India couldn’t perform to expectations in the previous edition of the T20 World Cup and will want to make amends next time around.
Conditions will be hot throughout the duration of the match in Guwahati. The humidity will also be on the higher side with the numbers in the mid and high-70s.
