India vs New Zealand: Rohit Sharma was in full slow at the nets in Jaipur as new coach Rahul Dravid oversaw the training session ahead of the first T20i, scheduled for November 17.
The BCCI selection committee picked a squad that has a good mix of youth and experience. The likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Harshal Patel, Avesh Khan and Venkatesh Iyer were rewarded for their performances in the IPL while Yuzvendra Chahal and Shreyas Iyer returned to the squad after missing the T20 World Cup.
It will be a fresh start for India under the leadership group of Rohit and Dravid as they would want to shake off the memories of the early exit from the T20 World Cup. With an eye on next year's showpiece event, India will be looking to find the right balance.
Meanwhile, New Zealand, who played the T20 World Cup final on Sunday have already arrived in Jaipur. They will be without captain Kane Williamson who has opted to rest for the T20I series and gear up for the Tests. Tim Southee will lead the Black Caps in the 3-match series.
