Former India batsman VVS Laxman said that Rohit Sharma had been in tremendous form in the Test series and that he should have played in the first T20I against England.

Former India batsman VVS Laxman on Sunday said that Team India got their combination wrong in the first T20I against England in Ahmedabad and added that Rohit Sharma should have definitely played in the match. He also hoped that India get the Mumbai batsman into the playing XI for the remaining matches in the series. “Especially when you are playing the best team in the world, it’s imperative to put out your strongest side. While the idea of giving game-time to Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul is laudable, the in-form Rohit Sharma should have played in the opening game. I’d love to see Rohit return to the side immediately,” VVS Laxman wrote in a column in Times of India.
