Vice-captain Rohit Sharma returned to India's playing XI for the 3rd T20I against England in Ahmedabad on Tuesday after having been rested for the first 2 matches of the 5-match series. Rohit replaces Suryakumar Yadav, who made his T20I debut on Sunday, misses out. In a decision that helped raise quite a few eyebrows, Suryakumar Yadav made way for Rohit Sharma. The Mumbai Indians middle-order batsman had made his long-awaited debut in India's win in the 2nd T20I but he did not get a chance to bat as Ishan Kishan and Virat Kohli made light work of a 165-run target. Virat Kohli confirmed that Rohit Sharma will open the batting but it remains to be seen if he pairs up with Ishan Kishan or KL Rahul. Rohit was rested for the first two matches as India tested their bench strength in the T20 World Cup year.
