5th Test: The decisive Old Trafford Test was called off just hours before the scheduled start of play on Friday after a meeting between officials of the BCCI and the ECB.
There will likely be no play at Old Trafford in the fifth and final Test between India and England on Friday. The first day of the match was postponed after a meeting between officials of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) less than three hours before toss was scheduled to be held. The fate of the Test came under doubt after multiple members of India's support staff, including head coach Ravi Shastri, tested positive for Covid-19. However, all Indian players had returned negative results in the second round of RT-PCR Covid-19 tests on Thursday, leading to expectations that the Test will go ahead as scheduled.More Related News
