India vs Bangladesh, Women's WC 2022: Yastika Bhatia, Sneh Rana starred as India hammered Bangladesh in a must-win encounter to stay alive in the ongoing tournament.
India women's team rode on Yastika Bhatia's responsible fifty and Sneh Rana's bowling heroics helped India recover from a mini-collapse and crush Bangladesh by 110 runs in their must-win league match in Hamilton to stay alive in the mix of the semi-finals of the ICC Women's ODI World Cup on Tuesday.
India have now won three matches and lost three games, including back-to-back defeats against England and Australia, to be placed fourth in the overall standing with just six points.
Earlier in the day, Yastika Bhatia's 3rd ODI fifty propelled India to a par score of 229/7 in 50 overs against Bangladesh on Tuesday, March 22. It was the 2nd successive fifty for the left-hander, who once again batted at No. 3 for India at the showpiece event.
Opting to bat, Smriti Mandhana (30) and Shafali Verma (42) shared 74 runs for the opening wicket but India suffered a mini-collapse, losing both the openers in quick succession.
Skipper Mithali Raj (0) was also back in the hut after a first-ball duck as India slumped to 74 for 3 in 15.3 overs.
Vice-captain Harmanpreet Kaur (14) too was run out by Fargana Hoque.
Bhatia (50 off 80) and Richa Ghosh (26) then added 54 runs to take India past the 150-run score before the latter was sent packing by Nahida Akter.
