India vs Australia: We failed to execute our plans against Cameron Green, admits Hardik Pandya

India vs Australia: We failed to execute our plans against Cameron Green, admits Hardik Pandya

India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has revealed that dew was not one of the factors behind India losing their match against India.

India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has praised his Australian counterpart Cameron Green for playing a top knock on his opening debut against India. Playing at Mohali on Tuesday, 20 September, Green came out all guns blazing against India in the first T20I and gave Australia a rapid start to their chase. Green's 61 off 30 balls threw the Indian bowling attack out of their rhythm as they failed to get the lines and lengths correct against the batter.

"Good on him the way he played. We have seen a lot of videos but it is all about executing your plans. He played some good shots and credit where it is due," Hardik said in the press conference after the game.

Asked about the conditions in the second innings, Pandya said that the conditions were favourable and it was the Indian bowling side that failed to execute their plans.

"There was no dew. You have to give credit to them the way they batted. They played good cricket. We could not execute our plans with the ball, with our deliveries," Pandya said.

"You can't pin point why we lost. It is a game. It is a bilateral series. We got two more matches and we will try to perform better," he further added.

The Indian allrounder had a good game personally, hitting 71 off just 30 balls. India would hope that Pandya carries his tremendous rise into the T20 World Cup, a trophy that has been elusive to India since the inaugural edition of 2007.
