Opener Haseeb Hameed, who has returned to the England fold in this series was also full of praise for Joe Root. Hameed said that the way Root is been batting in this series has been of the highest class and a great learning curve for him as a youngster.
After making an impressive Test debut in 2016 in India, the England opener Haseeb Hameed has gone into the wilderness. It took him five years to make a comeback for England. But he did make it count at Headingley on Thursday. Hameed put up a 135-run stand with Rory Burns (61). Interestingly, it was England's highest opening stand since Alastair Cook and Hameed put on 180 against India in 2016.More Related News
