India doing well in Tests despite Kohli, Rahane and Pujara struggling is surprising: Irfan Pathan

Former India fast bowler Irfan Pathan has said it's highly disappointing to see Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane's average dipping in Test cricket, saying time is running out for the two senior batters. Pathan's comments came after the two senior batters failed to get going in the first innings of the New Year's Test against South Africa in Johannesburg in the absence of captain Virat Kohli who missed the match due to an upper back spasm.

Ajinkya Rahane, who was removed as vice-captain ahead of the tour of South Africa due to his lean patch, was dismissed for a golden duck on Monday at the Wanderers after Cheteshwar Pujara got out for 3, failing to take responsibility in the absence of Kohli.
