India Today
Right before the Quad meet India and Australia discussed bilateral ties in the sectors of defence, talent, mobility, and globalisation.
External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on Friday, February 11, said that defence and security are key pillars of the India-Australia partnership.
Soon after concluding the fourth meeting of the foreign ministers of the Quad nations — India, Australia, the USA, and Japan — Jaishankar tweeted that he followed up on the 2+2 discussions held last year with Australian Defence Minister Peter Dutton. The two leaders met ahead of Friday’s Quad meeting in Melbourne, Australia.
