IND vs AUS: Trying to be a bit more aggressive upfront, says Aaron Finch ahead of series decider

IND vs AUS: Australia captain Aaron Finch talks about what processes his team is trying to instil right ahead of the T20 World Cup. The batter talks about the need to be aggressive and how India took the game away in 2nd T20I.

Australia captain Aaron Finch fell on the losing side in the 2nd T20I match of the series between India and Australia. In a rain-curtailed game at Nagpur, Australia were bested by the brilliance of Rohit Sharma and Axar Patel. The captain though, who himself has been in good touch in the two matches said that Australia were trying to focus on their processes more than results.

"Yeah. I think it's important that you're always looking at ways to improve and obviously, we went with (Glen) Maxwell at three, Tim David at four, so we're trying to be a bit more aggressive upfront and yeah, we haven't played too many shortened games," Finch said.

The right hander, who recently gave up his ODI shirt said that the Australian team probably needed to be a little better execution to sway the momentum on their side in the 2nd T20I.

"So I think especially leading into World Cup, we've put some thought into it under some time. Josh Inglis came out at the last minute, Sean Abbott took his spot. That was just to give us an extra bowling option, not knowing how the wicket would play. So there's just a little bit of execution with bat and ball, I think, at times that probably just swung the momentum of the game," the captain said.

Finch lauded the performance of India captain Rohit Sharma, who blasted 46 off 20 balls and took India to victory. The Australian captain further praised Axar Patel for bowling a tight spell in what could have been a heavy beating day for the spinners.

Australia will now travel to Hyderabad to face India in the third and final T20I of the tour. They will be playing West Indies next for their preparations in the T20 World Cup.
