A recent study of nearly 50,000 coronavirus patients found that those who were consistently inactive were at greater risk of death due to the virus than those who engaged in exercise.
Sallis said that walking at a moderate pace for 30 minutes daily could "give you a tremendous protective effect" against the virus. The study, published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, focused on 48,449 adults diagnosed with COVID-19 between January 1, 2020 to October 21, 2020 who had at least two measures of their "Exercise Vital Signs" between March 2018 and March 2020. From the data, researchers found 6.4% of patients were consistently active, while 14.4% were consistently inactive.More Related News
