Over reports that an Indian national has been kidnapped from Kabul in Afghanistan, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Thursday said it is in touch with all concerned and is monitoring the situation.

A 50-year-old Afghanistan-origin Indian national, identified as Bansri Lal Arendeh, was abducted at gunpoint on Tuesday in Kabul. According to Indian World Forum president Puneet Singh Chandhok, Bansri Lal was picked up by armed gunmen at around 8 am from the vicinity of his shop.
