Stalin on February 9, 2026. The plant is the first facility in India to manufacture JLR’s luxury models.

In a special address, N. Chandrasekaran, chairman, Tata Sons & Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., said that the inauguration of the new facility marks a significant milestone in the company’s journey to accelerate India’s leadership in sustainable and future-ready manufacturing.
The new facility, which is Ranipet's first car manufacturing plant, brings together advanced manufacturing technologies and a skilled workforce to deliver world-class vehicles.
Speaking at the inaugural on February 9, 2026, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin said the commencement of operations at the new car manufacturing facility in Ranipet district has heralded the State’s expansion of world-class automotive manufacturing.
