Fox News
The new world record for "longest chess marathon" was set in New York City this week when Nigerian chess champion Tunde Onakoya played for 60 hours straight.
The previous record was 56 hours, 9 minutes and 37 seconds, and was set in 2018 by Hallvard Haug Flatebø and Sjur Ferkingstad of Norway, said the AP. Christine Rousselle is a lifestyle reporter with Fox News Digital.
Guinness World Records has yet to confirm that the record was broken; this process can take weeks, the AP noted.
