IIT Roorkee and ARIES ink MoU to enable students participate in joint PhDs

The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee and Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences have signed a MoU that will enable students to participate in joint PhDs.
As a result of a Memorandum of Understanding signed between Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES) and Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR), students of ARIES will be able to participate in joint PhD programmes soon, whereas, the students of IIT Roorkee will be able to do projects on the ongoing activities at ARIES by using several existing and upcoming facilities at ARIES. The MoU has been signed for academic cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
"ARIES will facilitate to host scientific instrument(s) from IIT Roorkee for mutual benefits of faculties and students of both the institutions," said AIRES Director Dipankar Banerjee.
IIT Roorkee Director Ajit K Chaturvedi added, "The aim of this partnership is to bring the researchers of IIT Roorkee and ARIES closer to each other so as to use their respective strengths to jointly address interesting scientific and engineering problems."
