New Zealand were crowned the first-ever world champions of Test cricket after they outclassed India by 8 wickets on the reserve day in the rain-curtailed WTC Final at the Hampshire Bowl stadium. The famous win gave New Zealand their second ICC title after the Champions Trophy win in 2000 under Stephen Fleming, which also came against India in Nairobi.
