ICC U19 World Cup: India bowlers Ravi Kumar, Vicky Ostwal run through Bangladesh's top-order in quarter-final

Bangladesh U19 were left in tatters after India bowlers Ravi Kumar and Vicky Ostwal ran through their top-order in the third quarterfinal of the U-19 Cricket World Cup on Saturday.

Indian U19 bowlers lived up to their reputation by running through Bangladesh's batting line-up in the third quarterfinal of the U-19 Cricket World Cup on Saturday.

Ravi Kumar wreaked havoc in his first spell after India skipper Yash Dhull won the toss and opted to field against Bangladesh in the Under-19 World Cup quarterfinal. Kumar accounted for the wickets of Mahfijul Islam (2), Iftakher Hossain Ifti (1) and Prantik Nawrose Nabil (7) to leave Bangladesh reeling at 14 for 3 in 7.4 overs.

Aich Mollah and Ariful Islam joined hands to keep the scoreboard ticking as the duo added 24 runs for the fourth wicket before India spinner Vicky Ostwal struck twice in the same over to derail Bangladesh's innings further.

Ostwal removed Islam for 9 and Md Fahim (wk) for a duck in the 16th over of Bangladesh's innings. Captain Rakibul Hasan (7) was the next batter to depart as Kaushal Tambe wrapped in the pads with Bangladesh's score reading 50 for 6 in the 22nd over. Mollah was run out after scoring a struggling 17 off 48 deliveries.

Nishant Sindhu, who had led India in the previous two matches when Dhull was ruled out due to COVID-19 infection, is missing the game after returning COVID-19 positive and is currently in isolation.

This game is a rematch of the previous edition's final in 2020 when Bangladesh had stunned the favourite to win its maiden title. Current Bangladesh skipper Rakibul Hasan was part of that memorable final.
