ICC U19 World Cup: Aaradhya Yadav has replaced Vasu Vats, who has suffered a hamstring injury, and will be available for selection when India face Bangladesh in the Super League semi-finals.
Batter Aaradhya Yadav has been approved by the International Cricket Council as a replacement for the injured Vasu Vats in the Indian squad for the ongoing under-19 World Cup. The ICC said in a statement on Saturday that its event technical committee has approved the replacement.
"Vats has sustained a hamstring injury and will be unable to take any further part in the event. The replacement of a player requires the approval of the Event Technical Committee before the replacement player can be officially added to the squad," said the ICC.
"The Event Technical Committee consists of the Chair Chris Tetley (ICC Head of Events), Ben Leaver (ICC Senior Event Manager), Fawwaz Baksh (Tournament Director) Roland Holder (CWI Representative) Alan Wilkins and Russel Arnold (both independent representatives)."
India qualified for the Super League semi-final after topping Group B. They won all three of their matches to finish with six points and a net run rate of 3.633.
They now face Bangladesh on January 29 at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua and Barbuda.
