Ian Chappell lauds Rishabh Pant: Not content with batting heroics, he has evolved as wicketkeeper

Former Australia captain Ian Chappell lauded India's team management and senior players of the likes of Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane for providing a conducive environment for youngsters to express themselves freely at the highest level.

Former Australia captain Ian Chappell has heaped rich praise on Rishabh Pant, saying the India wicketkeeper-batsman is not content with his improved batting but evolved as a wicketkeeper as well. Ian Chappell acknowledged that Rishabh Pant worked on his fitness after not starting in matches during the Australia tour. The former Australia batsman said Pant has played 3 influential knocks in a span of 2 months and that most players don't play as many in their entire career. After losing out on his spot in the limited-overs set-up, Pant was benched for the first of a 4-match series in Australia. However, he returned to the playing XI in the 2nd Test after captain Virat Kohli headed home on paternity leave. Pant came up with some memorable performances, including game-changing knocks in the Sydney Test draw and the historic win in Brisbane.
