Australia woke up in a state of shock on May 15 with the news that Andrew Symonds had passed away in a single vehicle accident.
Australia legend Adam Gilchrist sent a heartfelt wish to Late Andrew Symonds' daughter Chloe on her birthday. Chloe, who celebrates her seventh birthday on 18 May, will be spending time without her father. Symonds, tragically passed away in the late hours of May 14 after his car rolled off the road. It was reported in the Australian media that Symonds passed away from the injuries that he had sustained from the accident and best efforts to keep him alive had failed.
Gilchrist, in a heartfelt message, wrote that he is passing down the hug that he once had received from his mate Andrew Symonds and he wishes that the hug carries the same warmth, love and trust that he got from his friend.
“Sent a massive hug that I once received from a very good mate, that I had stored away, to his daughter for her birthday today. More important she feels it’s warmth, love and trust than me. Happy Birthday sweet girl,” Gilchrist wrote on Twitter.

Wishes had poured in from all across the world after Symonds’s death, with the cricketing world agreeing that the former player passed away too early. Symonds, one of the greatest modern era all-rounders, was one of the pioneers of the modern power game and could rip apart oppositions with his abilities.
On top of his gifted abilities, Symonds’s attitude transformed the Australian limited overs team into a powerhouse during the mid-2000s. In the two ODI World Cups that Andrew Symonds was a part of, Australia never lost a game.
