A private college in Rajasthan's Chaksu stopped some girls from entering the college after they showed up wearing a burqa. Congress MLA Wajib Ali urged CM Gehlot to order a probe.

The hijab controversy has now spilled over to Rajasthan. A private college in Chaksu, Jaipur district of Rajasthan on Friday purportedly stopped some girls from entering the college after they showed up wearing a burqa.

Congress MLA Wajib Ali claimed that the Muslim girl students were not allowed to wear hijab. Taking to Twitter, he urged Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to take cognizance of the incident and order a probe.

He wrote, "Hate dealers now want to poison Rajasthan. Demand from Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Demand for strict action by taking cognizance of this incident."

As per reports, some girl students of Kasturi Devi College got angry after the college administration inquired about their uniforms. Subsequently, the girls informed their families, and called them to the spot.

The police was called, who then pacified the parents of the students. "They were convinced to wear the uniform in the college. The matter was resolved through talks," sub-Inspector of the Chaksu police station Jitendra Singh was quoted as saying by PTI.
