Ranchi Airport Director said that the staff offered the family to board another flight but they refused. They were provided with a hotel stay and flight tickets for the next day free of cost.
Ranchi Aiport Director KL Agarwal refuted the allegation that a specially abled child was stopped from boarding a Hyderabad-bound flight by an IndiGo manager on Saturday. "We always provide support and care to passengers," he said.
At the time of boarding, an IndiGo manager warned the family that the child would not be allowed to board the plane unless he acted 'normally'.
According to co-passengers, there were doctors taking the same flight and they assured the parents of support. But eventually, the flight departed for Hyderabad, leaving the three behind.
IndiGo issued a statement claiming the specially-abled child could not have boarded the flight in 'a state of panic'.
KL Agarwal said that the child was "in a state of panic and aggressive mood". "The parents were given an option to stay back or board another flight to Hyderabad via Pune. But the parents refused. After that, they were provided a free stay at a hotel. On Sunday, they were sent to Hyderabad free of cost," he said.
