Gurugram's air quality worst in NCR, remains in ‘poor’ category

For the second consecutive day, the air quality in Gurugram remained in the ‘poor’ category on Wednesday. The city recorded an air quality index (AQI) of 237, the worst air quality in the National Capital Region, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

However, on Monday, the city had recorded 'moderate' air quality with the AQI touching 194.

As per the air pollution experts, the city's air quality deteriorated due to moisture in the air, low wind speed and dust storms over the past two days which led to the accumulation of pollutants in the air.

The air quality in Delhi also remained in the 'poor' category with an AQI of 211. As per experts, air quality in the national capital is likely to improve over the next seven days.

However, with an AQI of 174, Noida's air quality was recorded in the 'moderate' category.

Gurugram on Wednesday recorded a minimum temperature of 13.4 degrees Celsius, five degrees above normal. Meanwhile, the maximum temperature hovered at 26.2 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal.
