Guru Ravidas temple priest in Delhi gets emotional after PM's visit; here’s why

PM Modi visited the Shri Guru Ravidas Vishram Dham Mandir in Delhi and his interaction with the priest left the latter in tears.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Shri Guru Ravidas Vishram Dham Mandir located in Delhi’s Karol Bagh on the occasion of Guru Ravidas Jayanti.
He was seen playing “manjira” inside the temple with other devotees after offering prayers. PM Modi also left a note in the visitor’s book.
When India Today visited the temple premises, the temple management was ecstatic as it was the first time any prime minister had ever visited.
The temple priest, Ram Sahay Shukla, while speaking to India Today, said, “I can’t believe someone as important as the Prime Minister would come and spend time with us. Not only did he offer his prayers, he also asked if everything was fine.”
He said he shared with the Prime Minister that he was facing trouble getting admission for his son to a government school in Uttar Pradesh.
Ram Sahay Shukla’s family lives in Shravasti district. He had been trying to get admission for his son. However, despite reaching out to the local leaders, including the MP of the constituency, he didn’t get any help.
Upon hearing this, the Prime Minister immediately directed the Delhi BJP Chief, Adesh Gupta, to ensure that his son’s admission is done without any trouble. This gesture moved the priest, who got emotional while narrating the incident.
