From guns to bullets to Punjabi songs, here's everything you need to know about the Lawrence Bishnoi gang's interests.
The arrest of shooter Santosh Jadhav from Gujarat by the Pune Rural crime branch has revealed a great deal about the operations of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. One of these is the use of the slogan 'Jai Balkari' by the gang to identify with other gang members.
The members of the gang only communicated through Instagram Messenger. They also have several Instagram accounts where they boast about their kills and other exploits.
Santosh Jadhav, for example, who was arrested by Pune police on Monday, has multiple Instagram accounts. One of these accounts features footage of Santosh Jadhav and his friends.
These Instagram accounts also mention videos of Lawrence Bishnoi's arrest and newspaper articles about gang extortion activity. These posts also include music videos by Sidhu Moose Wala, a Punjabi singer who was allegedly shot dead by the Bishnoi gang. One of the shooters is said to be Jadhav.
Meanwhile, police have discovered that Bishnoi gang members use guns and bullets to create their initials. Jadhav fashioned SJ out of guns and shared it on one of his Instagram accounts.
Another gang member had written Vicky with bullets.
Police also tracked the SOPO account in order to identify gang members. One such YouTube page belongs to Ankit Narwal, a former associate of Lawrence Bhisnoi who has been charged in a number of cases. In one video, Narwal can be seen on a video call with Sampat Nehra. Nehra was arrested once for plotting an attack on actor Salman Khan.
