In the United Kingdom, a group of metal detectorists came across a hoard of ancient coins, which they hope will soon be displayed at a museum. Some of the ancient coins discovered date back 800 years.
The hoard comprised of 21 ancient coins, which were found over the course of a few weeks by Luxton, Paul May, Neil King, Pete Young and Clive Hammett, the BBC reported. They named their discovery the Okey Hoard, according to the outlet. Ashlyn Messier is a writer for Fox News Digital.
Even though the discovery was made at the end of 2023, the laws of treasure discovery prevented it from immediately being announced.
