CBSN
Pop star Olivia Rodrigo is driving home her message to young Americans everywhere that you should do what's good for you — and get the COVID-19 vaccine. The 18-year-old "Driver's License" artist is heading to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue on Wednesday to meet with President Joe Biden and Dr. Anthony Fauci and record videos about the importance of young people getting vaccinated, according to the White House.
A White House official said Rodrigo will answer important questions young people have about the vaccine, and the videos will be featured on her social media pages with millions of followers in addition to White House social media. It's not yet clear when the content will become available.Ashley White received her earliest combat action badge from the United States Army soon after the first lieutenant arrived in Afghanistan. The silver military award, recognizing soldiers who've been personally engaged by an attacker during conflict, was considered an achievement in and of itself as well as an affirming rite of passage for the newly deployed. White had earned it for using her own body to shield a group of civilian women and children from gunfire that broke out in the midst of her third mission in Kandahar province. All of them survived. She never mentioned the badge to anyone in her battalion.
