Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has drawn flak from the Opposition for his remarks saying that parents should introspect about why teenagers go on beaches late at night. This comes after two minor girls were gangraped on Benaulim beach on Sunday.

Days after two minor girls were gangraped on Benaulim beach in Goa, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant drew flak for his remarks in the state Assembly that parents need to introspect about why their daughters were 'out late' at night. On Wednesday, during a debate on a calling attention notice in the House, Pramod Sawant said, “When 14-year-olds stay on the beach the whole night, the parents need to introspect. Just because children don’t listen, we cannot put the responsibility on the government and police.
