The former Astros center fielder, whom the Mets targeted in free agency before he opted for a $150 million deal with the Blue Jays, won’t be making his Toronto debut anytime soon. As he was trying to return from a left oblique strain, running the bases during a ramp-up workout, Springer felt tightness in his right quad on Tuesday. He underwent an MRI exam to see how much damage was done.
