Gehraiyaan actress Deepika Padukone reveals how her parents reacted to the film

Gehraiyaan actress Deepika Padukone has revealed her parents' reaction to her new film. Here's how they felt after watching the movie.

Deepika Padukone is currently riding on the success of her film, Gehraiyaan. The actress is earning appreciation from all over for her character in the film. The actress played the role of Alisha in the Shakun Batra directorial venture. Days after the release of Gehraiyaan, Deepika has now revealed how her parents, Prakash Padukone and Ujjala Padukone, reacted after watching her new movie.

In an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, Deepika revealed that her parents felt extremely proud after watching her in Gehraiyaan. "(They are) proud, extremely proud. And of course, they do find it a little difficult to disassociate me from the actor, so they usually take time. It does affect them. They're my family, my parents. Of course, it affects them, but they were extremely appreciative and proud of my performance," said Deepika.

The actress further said, "They were also proud of how we depicted mental health in the film and how we dealt with that. So ya, I am happy that they're proud."

After the success of Gehraiyaan, Deepika Padukone has not one but five big films lined up. The actress will be reuniting with her Om Shanti Om and Chennai Express co-star Shah Rukh Khan for Pathan, directed by Siddharth Anand. In the film, the actress will also be seen alongside John Abraham.

Besides Pathan, Deepika will be seen sharing screen space with Hrithik Roshan for the first time in Fighter. Next, she will be seen in Project K with Prabhas. And not to forget, she has The Intern with Amitabh Bachchan lined up. That's not all. She will also be seen in Madhu Mantena's untitled next.
