FTX founder Bankman-Fried lands in U.S. for first court appearance on Thursday

The fallen cryptocurrency entrepreneur Sam Bankman-Fried is expected to make his initial U.S. court appearance Thursday on charges that he swindled investors and looted customer deposits on his FTX trading platform.
Bankman-Fried landed in the U.S. after being extradited from the Bahamas on Wednesday. The 30-year-old was arrested in the Bahamas last week.
On Wednesday, the U.S. attorney in Manhattan announced that two of Bankman-Fried's closest business associates had also been charged and had secretly agreed to plea deals.
